I had a wonderful recipe for Vegetable and Chickpea Mafé (a Senegalese Peanut Stew) all ready to share with you today, but alas, my pictures were posting blurry. I didn't want your first introduction to this delicious, rich and peanuty stew to be a blurry one, so I decided to share with you "How to Cut a Pineapple." It's not nearly as exciting, but pineapple is still pretty darn delicious! Stay posted for the Mafé dish. It's amazing!
Now, I know the method for cutting a pineapple may be old news for most of you, but learning how to cut a pineapple was revolutionary for me! If you love pineapple, but don't know how to cut it, you know how expensive store-bought, pre-cut pineapple is. If I cut up a whole pineapple instead of buying pre-cut pineapple, I usually get double the amount of fruit for the same amount of money.
While this process may seem time consuming, it only takes me about 5 minutes to do. Yes, I've had quite a lot of practice, but I think it's worth the savings to learn how to cut one yourself!
This tutorial is going to be mainly pictures with some captions, but I hope it helps. Enjoy your freshly cut pineapple!!
That's all there is to it! I love having a huge tupperware full of sweet pineapple to snack on throughout the week. It also allows you to make a fresh fruit salad in no time. Just add in some berries and a sliced banana and you've got yourself a beautiful, healthy side dish!

That's exactly the way I cut pineapple, too! I've seen people do it a few different ways, but I think this seems the easiest. I'm craving pineapple after reading this post 🙂
