I was in some of the worst pain of my life two nights ago.
I thought I had experienced bloating before, but this experience was a different story. It started in the afternoon and by bed time my stomach was so distended and rock hard and I had so much gas coming out both ends (TMI, I know). It was so bad I thought we might have to call the hospital…
…and some of you already know about my last experience in a Chinese Hospital.
Horrible. Scary. I-never-want-to-go-back-ever-again-bad!!
Thankfully Brett was home and looked up what it could be online and all we discovered is that it was…bloating.
I had no idea bloating could be that painful! Anyways, I stayed up late, pacing my house and holding a heat pad to my stomach, just trying to get the pain to go down so I could sleep. Eventually it worked and two days later I’m feeling mostly back to normal, but it took quite a while to get my normal belly back.
Have any of you dealt with this severe of bloating? What caused it for you? How did you make it go away?
The day after this horrible night took place, my stomach was still distended and hard, but not as bad as the night before. I looked up on-line foods that help bloating and, among many, peppermint was one that popped up. As some of you know from my Instagram, I just bought peppermint essential oil. Perfect!
I whipped up this simple and delicious Dairy-Free Peppermint Chocolate Milk and it was just what I needed. So sweet and creamy and festive from the peppermint. Not to mention good for my digestion!
BEFORE YOU MAKE THIS however, make sure that your Peppermint Essential Oil is food grade and that you can ingest it. But once you’ve gotten that figured out, definitely give this Dairy-Free Peppermint Chocolate Milk a try! Leave a comment letting me know your thoughts and if you make it, take a picture and tag #theconscientiouseater on Instagram so I can see your creation!
