After a weekend away that was full of oily, spicy food, I’m sharing with you guys the foods I eat to get my stomach and digestion back to normal. Oil doesn’t make me feel the greatest and when I have to eat oily meals over and over again (which was the case this past weekend), then I always need to focus on whole, plant foods to get my stomach back to normal. Usually when I’m home, I eat a mostly whole foods diet, so I guess this is just another typical day of food!
Let’s dig in!
I fasted throughout the morning to give my churn-y belly a break. I actually do this fairly regularly and break my fast around 12-1 PM. For my first meal, I ate my usual large bowl of oatmeal. This was a weird combo as I blended carrots into the water I cooked my oats in. Then I added cacao powder to make it chocolatey. Toppings were PB, banana, cacao nibs, goji berries, and a brazil nut for selenium!
I ended up making and filming a video for my favorite 5 Ingredient Adaptable Energy Bars, which I always roll into balls. After making these I nibbled on some of the extra crumbs in the bottom of the bowl. Yum!
Dinner was eaten out of a tupperware at a friends house. The base was a head of lettuce, which I topped with chickpeas, sweet potato, brown rice, and ketchup. I would have so much preferred Sriracha, but I needed to say no to spice for one day to help my stomach heal!
Right after dinner I ate two of This Rawsome Vegan Life’s Raw Vegan Doughnut Holes. So good! Seriously, make this recipe if you can!
