I feel like I could write a saga on my breastfeeding experience and maybe one day I will. Overall it’s been fairly easy and straightforward, but lately I’ve found myself worrying about whether Harper is getting enough or not. I don’t know what I would have done without my sister-in-law who has patiently answered ALL my questions and allowed me to verbally process, what seems like, daily with her.
I’ve heard that most moms go through a “worrying period” where they feel unsure of the amount they’re producing, and I guess I’m just like any other new mom out there. I will say that some of my concerns are valid as Harper recently went through some scheduling changes that shifted her nursing schedule and probably confused my body a little bit. She dropped a feeding (she now only eats 5x a day) and also started sleeping really late into the morning (we’re talking 10AM)! These changes lead me to start pumping and I feel like that’s all I did this past week. Some day’s I went to bed feeling so physically and emotionally drained from all the pumping, bottle feedings and dish washing.
I won’t go into much more detail right now, but would be willing to write a more detailed post later on if that would be of interest to some of you. I’m trying to go back to nursing, because pumping so much in a day isn’t practical or sustainable to me. In regards to this week of meals, you’ll see that I ate oatmeal for a few meals other than breakfast. Oats are supposed to help with increasing milk supply, but they also just make me feel so good. Some days by dinner time, oatmeal was the only thing that sounded good. I also tried to eat more snacks throughout the day to help fuel all the energy I was expending.
Anyways, on to this weeks eats!
I only have one photo for breakfasts, because I ate the same thing every morning!
