Sweetened with fruit and full of healthy fats, this rich and chocolaty 4 Ingredient Chocolate Cherry Mousse is perfect for dessert or even a decadent breakfast!
I am so thankful that I can say Brett and I have a wonderful marriage! Don't get me wrong, we're not perfect and we still have conflicts, but they're often minor and dissolve after some conversation. Other than him being an introvert and me being an extrovert, we have the exact same Myers-Briggs personality type. We love doing a lot of the same things and often agree on different topics.
Because we see each other often, whether at the house or in language class, and are often traveling to fun places together, we often forget that we haven't gone on an official date in a while. We realized this again recently and since then have been making a conscious effort to have some "Faith and Brett time" every other week or so.
When we first moved to China, we felt like we were just trying to keep our heads above water. We had to navigate a completely different culture, find a place to live, furnish our house, figure out how to buy and order food and so much more. Going on dates was the last thing on our minds. But now, we feel like we can come up with fun things to do together. I just shared a What I Ate Wednesday post where I talked about an afternoon date that Brett and I went on recently, but we also went on an evening date recently that was really fun. We had a delicious home cooked meal at home and then went on a long walk to the movie theatre to see the Captain America movie. Movies don't always play in English in our city, so we try to go see the ones that they do show in English.
The funny thing is, movie theaters in China are so different than theaters in America. It seems like all the movies they feature are in 3D. Before I moved to China I don't think I had ever seen a movie in 3D! The theaters also are super warm. In America I'm so used to bringing a sweatshirt, sometimes even a blanket, to the theater because of how hard they blast the A/C. In China though, we often leave the theaters sweating and in dire need of fresh air and H2O. The last weird thing about movie theaters in China is that people are okay with talking on the phone during the movie. Several times throughout the movie you'll hear someone's phone ring and then they'll proceed to answer their call and have a conversation. Thankfully they do it semi-quietly so it's not too distracting, but I feel like if that happened in America, the person on the phone would get the dirtiest looks from everyone around them!
But no complaints here! I'm just thankful to be able to go on dates with my husband and watch a movie in English!
It's the little things people.
Another great thing to do on date night is eat dessert.
I mean, come on, really.

I started drinking warm lemon water every morning and it has really helped with digestion. Something to think about....

The kino (movie theatre) here one is given an assigned seat unlike in the Big Apple where you can sit wherever you like.

I'm in love with warm lemon water, but I forget to drink it a lot of the times. So good and so good for you! Here you can buy a certain seat or just choose when you get there too.

Yes, yes, pass me a big spoon, yes!!! This looks like chocolate cherry heaven! I've never thought to add extra fruits to avocado mousse, great idea! And cherry + chocolate is always a winner <3 Now if only there was a country whose movie theaters serve these sort of snacks 😀
Faith says
This really is your kind of recipe Natalie...fruit on fruit! And yes, so wish this was a movie theatre snack!
