Full of fiber from ground flaxseed and oats, these Tahini Brownie Bites are a nutritious way to satisfy your sweet tooth craving!

tahini brownie bites piled high in a bowl

If you've never tried the combination of chocolate and tahini, you're in for a real treat!

I've been combining chocolate and tahini for ages.

It's definitely one of my favorite combinations.

We love tahini in these Chocolate Tahini No-Bake Cookies.

It's rare that we go a week without making our favorite Easy Vegan Tahini Brownies.

Chocolate and tahini is even delicious in baked goods, like this brownie batter baked oatmeal!

Currently, however, I've been obsessed with these Tahini Brownie Bites!

They are my go-to snack and I know you all will love them as much as we do!

    Ingredients for Tahini Brownie Bites

I ended up naming these energy bites Tahini Brownie Bites, because of how much they remind me of dessert.

They're chewy, chocolatey, and have the perfect sweet and salty balance that makes eating just one pretty hard.

To make these tahini brownie bites, you'll need the following 6 ingredients:

    • Quick oats
    • Ground flaxseed
    • Cocoa powder
    • Mix-ins (cacao nibs, mini chocolate chips, etc.)
    • Tahini
    • Liquid sweetener

    That's it!

For the liquid sweetener, I recommend you use a thicker sweetener such as agave, brown rice syrup or even honey, if you consume honey.

    What is Tahini?

In case you aren't familiar with tahini, it's basically the sesame seed version of peanut butter.

Sesame seed get ground down into a smooth paste to create tahini!

You should be able to fine tahini at your local grocery store, however the best type of tahini is usually found at an international or middle eastern market.

You want to use smooth, runny tahini if possible!

    How to Make Energy Bites

These tahini brownie bites are essentially another spin off my classic No-Bake Energy Bite recipe.

They are super easy to make!

Simply follow the step-by-step instructions below, and you'll be in chocolate tahini heaven before you know it!

    • In a large bowl mix together the oats, cacao powder, ground flax seed, and cacao nibs.
    • Add in the tahini and sweetener and mix until combined well combined.
    • Using slightly damp hands, take about 1.5 - 2 tablespoons worth of dough and roll it into a ball. Continue this process until all the dough has been rolled into balls.
    • Store the bites in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.

    How to Store Energy Bites

I love making large batches of energy bites because they keep for ages in the fridge AND can easily be frozen.

Fridge: To store these brownie bites in the fridge, simply place them in airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. (To be honest, I've even kept mine for 3-4 weeks and they are still fine! They just harden the longer the sit.

Freezer: To freeze these bites, flash freeze the bites on a baking sheet before transferring them to an airtight container or freezer-safe Ziploc Bag. Freeze for up to 2 months.

To thaw frozen energy bites, remove them from the freezer the night before you need them and allow them to thaw in the fridge.

Just made these for the first time and they are soooo good! I did try your 5 ingredient balls in the past and had trouble w them falling apart on me. For this recipe I did not have rolled oats so I used oat flower and they held together so much better! Thanks for this recipe!

So happy to hear that! If you're having trouble with the 5 ingredient energy bites, you could start with 1 1/2 cups quick oats instead of the 2 cups. Glad these worked out for you though!

So I'm noticing that you use quick oats in recipes a lot... it probably doesn't matter if I just used my organic rolled oats, right?

You can use rolled oats for sure! Things just might be a little more chewy/hearty because quick oats are broken down a little bit. I'm pretty sure I've used both interchangeably in tons of recipes. Let me know how they turn out though so I can know for others! Love all your questions Aic!
