Rich pecans blended until smooth and mixed with melted chocolate. Could there be a better combination for a nut butter spread?
I think not.
And the cool thing is, this combination wasn't even my own idea! One of my college friends and a faithful reader and commenter, Sydni, gave me the challenge to come up with a recipe for Homemade Chocolate Pecan Butter. She said she bought some at Whole Foods and immediately feel in love. She said she would be so grateful it I came up with something similar. Now, I've never had this Chocolate Pecan Butter from Whole Foods, so I can't compare it to my Homemade Chocolate Pecan Butter I came up with, BUT I will say that this stuff is ah-maze-ing. I'm hooked.
And that's a fact.
The other morning I made some of my favorite chocolate oatmeal (oatmeal cooked with a ripe banana and cocoa powder) and put a nice dollop of this Homemade Chocolate Pecan Butter on top. Double chocolate oatmeal...breakfast of champions!
I had never really had pecan butter before I made this Homemade Chocolate Pecan Butter, but it really is a beautiful thing. Pecans have become one of my favorite nuts. They taste like dessert to me. Especially when blended into decadent pecan butter! They have a subtle caramel-y taste and they can take a plain salad from boring to fantastic. In desserts their divine. You really just can't go wrong with pecans, unless you're allergic to them of course.
Please tell me your not allergic. I'd be so sad.
This Homemade Chocolate Pecan Butter is so simple to make. Pecans blend into nut butter easier than other nuts in my opinion, so I was able to have this Chocolate Pecan Butter ready in less than 10 minutes. No need for a high speed blender either! I can't wait to make some cookies with this Homemade Chocolate Pecan Butter, spread it on some fresh bread right out of the oven, and give it to people as gifts! I don't think anyone would turn this goodness away.
If you're a nut butter lover, I hope you get a chance to try making this Chocolate Pecan Butter. It will rock your world...and your tastes buds! And Sydni, I hope it is an satisfactory version of the Whole Foods brand you found!
