I got bit with the travel bug at the age of 14 when I ventured overseas for the first time to Cochabamba, Bolivia. Throughout high school and even after college I continued to go on international trips here and there. It was after I got married, however, that I really started to see the world!
In 2013 I married my husband Brett and we, along with our daughter Harper, currently live in China where we are learning Chinese. Whenever there is a holiday and we can take a break from our studies, we try to travel to squeeze in a trip to one of the nearby countries in East or Southeast Asia. For example, we love to escape to Chiang Mai (Thailand) during their dry season. From there countries like Vietnam and Cambodia are just a short flight away. We've also been able to visit Tokyo (Japan) and Seoul (South Korea), a vegan's paradise!
Additionally, while visiting my parents who live in Ireland or on our way to China we have found ways to squeeze in trips to mainland Europe. Before Harper was born, Brett used frequent flyer miles and credit card points to plan an epic babymoon where we traveled all throughout Central Europe. We visited cities like Berlin (Germany), Krakow (Poland), Vienna (Austria), Budapest (Hungary), Dubrovnik (Croatia), Stockholm (Sweden), and more!
I hope these travel recaps where I scope out and enjoy food from vegan restaurants all around the world help show you that you can maintain a plant based, vegan diet no matter where you are! I also hope that the various vegan restaurant posts that I share here will come in handy as you plan your next trip!
Happy Travels!
